Thursday 11th April saw Painshill open its doors for a very special Venue Showcase Event. An Alice in Wonderland theme transformed the stunning event space, treating guests to an otherworldly experience in the heart of Surrey.

Guests got a sneak peak at the results of a recent refurbishment which includes new decking and furniture as well as a brand new inbuilt dance floor – ideal for parties and private events.

Catering was provided by new in-house caterers, the award winning create food & party design. Create provided an Alice in Wonderland themed finger buffet with sweet treats including homemade fudge and sugar mice, as well as a white chocolate fountain for dessert. Drinks included sparkling wine and Alice in Wonderland ‘Drink Me’ cocktails served in miniature glass bottles.

The day also saw a much anticipated announcement – Painshill’s Christmas theme for 2013 – The Snow Ball! Part of the venue gave guests a taste of what to expect, with white chair covers, icicles, snowflakes, silver sprayed birch and pea lights throughout.

Entertainment was suited to the summery theme of the day, with garden games such as croquet proving a hit with guests. A close up magician left many a guest lost for words, whilst a pixpod photo booth captured unforgettable moments throughout the day.

Theming for the event included Alice in Wonderland themed table centres and a dance floor centrepiece that Alice would have been proud of – a giant stack of tea cups. The entrance was marked by spiral topiary trees, and giant hearts and clubs showed guests to the bar. The tea party theme continued into the dining area, where alternating pink and black tablecloths created a checkered effect, which was complemented by mismatched chairs.

Thank you to all those members of the Group that came to support the event, particularly Create who did an outstanding job. We had some very promising enquiries on the evening and so it was definitely a worthwhile event to do, and really showed The Conservatory at it’s best. The sun was shining which made things even better!
